“Neil Marshall’s apocalyptic action film Doomsday pushed physical and mechanical props design to extreme limits. Designing for an armed containment breach into an infected quarantine zone, our department designed, fabricated, and installed heavy combat vehicle weapon mounts and high-rate-of-fire pneumatic guns. The peak engineering challenge required designing and certifying a functioning animatronic Gatling gun rig mounted into the doorframe of a real flight-capable helicopter, completing rigorous aviation structural sign-offs for extreme aerial filming manoeuvres.”
